The pepper plants are producing their first fruits. It's a wonderful time of the year but also a little bittersweet. To allow each plant to flourish and grow so it can produce the maximum number of peppers it's important to pick these early peppers early. If you don't the plant puts too much energy into ripening these peppers at the expense of the growth of the plant.Today I got to pick the first few peppers from the garden in the hopes that the yield of the plant will be all the better.
Have no fear - the peppers are not going to waste. Laurie and Luke made a fresh mango salsa and the peppers will play a great role!
Here are the early peppers from garden to table!
The Vine and the Branches
John 15:1-4 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."
